Our Core Principle
Your data stays on your device. friendrm is designed as a local-first app. The personal information you store about your friends, family, and contacts lives in a database on your phone and is never uploaded to our servers.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
friendrm does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following on external servers:
- Names, phone numbers, email addresses, or physical addresses of your contacts
- Birthdays, life events, or relationship details you record
- Notes, contact logs, gift ideas, or any other data you enter
- Photos you attach to contact profiles
- Your device contacts (accessed only with your permission and used locally)
2. Information Stored on Your Device
All content you create in friendrm is stored in a local SQLite database on your device. This includes:

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it yourself.
3. Device Permissions
Contacts
friendrm requests access to your device contacts so you can import people into the app. Contact data is read locally and is never transmitted to any server. You can use the app without granting this permission by adding people manually.
Notifications
friendrm uses local notifications to deliver reminders (birthdays, reach-out prompts, occasion planning). These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device. No push notification service operated by us receives your personal data.
4. Third-Party Services
RevenueCat (In-App Purchases)
friendrm uses RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. When you make a purchase or restore a previous one, RevenueCat processes transaction data provided by Apple or Google. This may include:
- An anonymous app user ID
- Purchase receipts and transaction identifiers
- Subscription status and entitlement information
RevenueCat does not receive any of the personal relationship data you store in friendrm. For details on how RevenueCat handles data, see their Privacy Policy.
Apple App Store & Google Play Store
Downloading and purchasing through these platforms is subject to Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.
5. Analytics & Tracking
friendrm does not include any analytics SDKs, crash-reporting tools, or advertising trackers. We do not track how you use the app, and we do not build user profiles.
6. Data Security
Because your data is stored locally on your device, it is protected by your device's own security mechanisms (passcode, biometrics, encryption at rest). We recommend keeping your device software up to date and using a strong passcode.
7. Data Deletion
You are in full control of your data:
- Delete individual records — remove any person, note, event, or gift idea from within the app at any time.
- Delete all data — uninstalling friendrm removes the local database and all associated data from your device.
Since we do not store your data on our servers, there is no server-side data to request deletion of.
8. Children's Privacy
friendrm is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, the data exists only on that device and can be removed by uninstalling the app.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
